The answer involves Batman taking the lead to assemble a team to combat the threat and arriving at the solution: to beat aliens and their weapons, you'll need alien weapons like the kind you might find inside the Fortress of Solitude. It's an "Elseworlds/Multiverse" story, so things happen that likely wouldn't happen in the DCU we know and characters behave out of character from the ones we know.
