Acorus calamus (Sweet Flag)Dark green iris like foliage with a small green horn shaped bloom. It grows from a rhizome which runs across the ground out of which the leaves rise up. It has been used in fragrances and medicinal cures since Egyptian times. Little maintenance is required. Trim just above the water surface after foliage has died back in Autumn to tidy leaving a little material to protect new shoots. Plant in full sun to partial shade between 1cm and 15cm deep.

I have dry mouth which makes me prone to bad breath. I’ve experimented with chewing these before bed (after brushing) or in the morning (also after brushing). I tested my breath using a cloth mask and also did “blank” tests on days when I did not use the product.
